Gov Budget Cuts

Should community sports/activites and afterschool activities be cut?

This topic has been discussed numerous amounts of time. Schools, parents, children, the community, and city hall have been the ones who discuss this matter and try to find a solution. Young children and young adults are affected by these budget cuts because there are starting to be no more sports and activities out in the city and schools. Many people love playing sports for the city and are used to playing every season. Now with budget cuts, their opportunity is beginning to be taken away. There are very few variaties of activities to choose from. Parents love when their kids are growing up playing sports or trying out for other activities. There is normally lots to choose from such as; soccer, basketball, baseball, cheer, dancing, etc. The city has lately had to cut several different activities because there is no money for it.
I could interview city officials and athletes to ask them if it is a wise decision to cut. Also, I would ask if it is really that necessary. Is there other ways we can work around money issues? What ways can we get support to continue to make these activities happen? If the community got together, would it work to get our sports and activities back?
